Jesse A. Barrett: Pulp Adventures with Attitude and Edge
Sometimes when you ask the interwebs, you get a fun answer ; )
Was checking a couple of reviews, when I got a wild hair to find out what the interwebs thought of me…
Jesse A. Barrett, Writer
Jesse A. Barrett is a versatile storyteller whose work spans sword & sorcery, science fiction, and pulp-style action adventures. A lifetime reader and collector of writers, he began his professional writing career in 2022 after diverse experiences in photography, pizza delivery, tropical fish, and IT. Based in Central Oklahoma, he draws inspiration from gaming, reading, and herding creative minds. His stories have appeared in anthologies from Raconteur Press, AMP, and various “Team ‘...and More!’” collections, captivating readers with high-stakes narratives and imaginative worlds.
What to Expect
Jesse A. Barrett’s writing delivers fast-paced, two-fisted action reminiscent of classic pulp fiction, blending high fantasy with speculative elements like rayguns, giant robots, and intergalactic showdowns. Expect gritty heroes facing impossible odds, clever world-building that nods to golden-age sci-fi and sword & sorcery tropes, and stories that prioritize excitement, attitude, and unapologetic fun. His tales often explore themes of freedom, resilience, and living life to the fullest, with a focus on male-driven narratives that avoid preachiness while embracing bold, attitude-filled escapism. Whether it’s batrachian warriors, space marine battles, or weird western showdowns, Barrett’s prose is accessible, engaging, and designed to keep you turning pages—no fragile, yellowed paper required.

Had to edit a couple of things that Grok picked up from other Raconteur Press writers and anthologies, but all in all it did an interesting job. Then I took things a step further and figured I’d see what MJ could do with a pic and a request to turn me into a ‘steampunk action hero’. More pointless fun, and I could dream I photographed that well ; )
Also, Grok seems to think I need to write some kind of Hollow Earth Dinosaur thing…
*shrugs*

Congrats. When I asked Chat GPT about me it kept telling me about a different Seth Taylor.
I am intrigued by this "collector of writers"...where do you keep them and what do you feed us, er, them?
